Orono Youth Football

 Registration for 2011 will open around June 1st. Remember to take advantage of early registration pricing. The reason for increased pricing is the excessive work that late registration creates. Early pricing is a behavior modifier. 

 Include Jersey size selection

It's late in the registration process, Jersey numbers have now been assigned. See the list at the below of this page for previously taken numbers (as of date shown). Provide number options beyond those already selected. As of August 8, last year's number will only be available if not taken by your registration timestamp.

Early registration is $200 for the first player per family in the OYF program and $100 for each additional player per family in grades 4-8

Registration increases by $50 per player on July 6th and an additional $50 for registration on/after August 1st.

Please select the appropriate box for each player in your family on the registration form.

Eligible players for Orono Youth Football include all students eligible for school at Orono. This includes active students, students living within the district that attend other schools and students from other districts that open enroll at Orono. We do open the program for players outside in nearby communities if there is not a program in their community. Late registration may be subject to availability by grade due to team size. Non-Orono registration may close if the team count is considered full. Registration closures will be posted here.

All registration is online. There is no mail option.

Coaches: if you are looking to be a head or full assistant coach, please see the separate registration form under Coaches. This is a new form. The questions within the player registration can not be removed during the registration process (sorry for any confusion). 

Orono Youth Football wants all players to have the opportunity to play. Should your financial situation not allow you to pay the registration fee, please contact Ron Carlson by email or phone to discuss a scholarship. Scholarships are limited to players eligible for Orono school per above only. If you are from a surrounding community, please check to see if your local program has funds for you should you be in need of a scholarship.

Practice begins August 16. Since we have parent coaches, practice is generally after work hours (typical start is 6:00 +/-). Each coach sets the exact schedule for their team. 

There are no scheduled activities on Wednesday, Friday, or Sundays. 

Games will start right after Labor Day and run until mid October. Game days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday evenings at 6:30 or 8:00 starts, and Saturday starts at 9:00, 10:30, and 12:00 with some games possible on Saturday afternoon. Games run about 90 minutes.

Should a player decide to not participate or become unable to participate, a general guideline for refunds is as follows: 

• Refund request prior to beginning of practice:
  • Full refund, less
    • Any payment processing fee incurred by OYF;
    • Any expense incurred directly related to player (jersey with name, etc.)
• When the practice season starts.
  • Assume no refunds after the start of practice.
  • Injury does not create an exception to refund policy.
