Orono Youth Football looks at league options

Orono Youth Football has been a member of the Lake Minnetonka Athletic Association (LMAA), a youth football league with participants from Minnetonka, Orono, Maple Grove, St. Louis Park, Hopkins and Wayzata/Plymouth.

Starting 2017  OYF has expressed to the  LMAA concerns about certain procedures and player development processes for the league.  For example, Orono coaches and board members believe that the gap between 8th-grade football and ninth grade football has grown too large. We have expressed this concern amoung others but have not been able to communicate our perspective to the LMAA.

The LMAA is operated by a board of directors consisting of two representatives for larger school districts and one director for the smaller districts such as Orono.  We believe each community should have one representative as we are all equally involved and should be equally represented.

Please stay tuned as the Orono Youth Football's board works hard to find the best possible solutions for Orono player development and the safety development of our players.
